My Story

A Little About Me
My journey into osteopathy began with a solid foundation in kinesiology. I completed my Honours Bachelor of Kinesiology from the University of Waterloo in 2012. Not quite sure where my path would lead, I spent eight fulfilling years serving as a police officer. Despite the rewarding nature of law enforcement, I felt the call for a change and enrolled at the National Academy of Osteopathy. The education I received ignited a passion for osteopathy and sharing it with the world! Now, I'm excited to begin this new career, serving and protecting in a different way.

When I'm not in the clinic, you'll likely find me running through nature trails or soaking up the great outdoors. I have a soft spot for all creatures, but cats hold a special place in my heart. Their grace and agility are truly inspiring – much like the human body when it's moving at its best.

 My Approach
I specialize in joint mobilization, muscle energy techniques, craniosacral osteopathy, and visceral osteopathy. Whether you're dealing with a stubborn shoulder injury or mysterious foot pain, I'm here to solve the puzzle. I particularly enjoy working with first responders and athletes, but I welcome everyone from infants to the elderly.

 Beyond the Table
My commitment to your health doesn't end when you leave the clinic. I believe in a holistic approach, which includes personalized stretches and exercises for you to do at home. This ensures that the benefits of your osteopathic treatment continue long after our session.

Let's work together to get you moving freely and feeling fantastic!

What is Osteopathy?

You may be asking yourself, what exactly is osteopathy? And that is ok because I asked myself the same question when I first began my journey into this new profession!

Osteopathy was founded by Dr. Andrew Still in 1874. He created a holistic approach to healthcare driven by his dissatisfaction with conventional medicine. This approach focuses on the body’s innate ability to heal itself and the connection between your body’s structure and function.

Since the times of Dr. Still, osteopathy has evolved into a recognized healthcare profession combining manual techniques, gentle manipulations and a comprehensive understanding of anatomy to promote overall wellness.

How Can Osteopathy Help Me?

Osteopathy offers a holistic approach to healthcare that can effectively address a wide range of ailments.

Whether you’re seeking relief from acute or chronic conditions osteopathy can benefit you! It can help alleviate musculoskeletal issues such as back or neck pain, sports injuries and joint issues by restoring proper alignment, enhancing mobility and reducing muscle tension. Osteopathy is a great form of therapy for the relief of chronic pain conditions.

Osteopathy can also aid in managing headaches and migraines through manual manipulation as well as craniosacral osteopathy. Craniosacral osteopathy is a relaxing form of osteopathy that aids in concussion therapy, headaches, sinus issues and can assist with mood disorders.

Osteopathy can also aid in digestive issues and organ related disorders through visceral osteopathy. Visceral osteopathy looks at the connections between the organs and between the organs and other musculoskeletal structures.

Benefits of osteopathy:

  • Improve health across all body systems

  • Correct postural imbalances

  • Improve circulation

  • Restore joint function

  • Relieve chronic pain

  • Improve sleep

  • Reduce adhesions and scars

  • Relieve migraines and headaches

  • Relieve digestive issues

Osteopathic care not only focuses on acute injuries but there is a focus on chronic pain management through manual therapy. The application of joint mobilization, muscle energy techniques and soft tissue therapy is supported by visceral osteopathic treatments and craniosacral osteopathic treatments.
